Postgraduate master’s loan

You may be eligible for postgraduate loan funding from the UK Government via Student Finance England, Student Finance Wales, or Student Award Agency Scotland.

UK Government support

You may be eligible for postgraduate loan funding from the UK Government via Student Finance England, Student Finance Wales, or Student Award Agency Scotland.

This can provide funding support towards the cost of your postgraduate programme and differs depending on where you reside in the UK.

For Wales/Scotland residents, you can backdate for the 23/24 academic year if you’ve already started with us, but please note that the loan amounts will relate to the 23/24 academic year and not the 2024/2025 as detailed below.


If you live in England

If your postgraduate course starts on or after 1 August 2024, you may be eligible to receive a postgraduate master’s loan of up to £12,471 through Student Finance England.

If you live in Wales

If your course starts on or after 1 August 2024, you may be eligible for a combination of loan and grant with a maximum of £18,950 depending on your household income.

The following courses are eligible:

Barrister Training Course (Master's)
BTC with Professional Legal Studies (Master’s)
LLM SQE1&2
Master of Laws LLM
MSc Applied Data Analytics Online

If you live in Scotland

If your course starts on or after 1 August 2024, you may be eligible for a tuition fee loan of up to £7,000 for full-time postgraduate courses. Eligible students can also apply for a living-cost loan of up to £6,900. For the 2024/25 academic year, the amount of loan you are entitled to will include a £2,400 Special Support Loan.

The following courses are eligible:

BTC with Professional Legal Studies (Master’s)
LLM SQE1&2 (excludes online)
