Apprenticeship overview

Build the skills to drive strong team performance and day-to-day business activity.

The Level 3 Management and Business Foundations Apprenticeship gives you the core capabilities to succeed as a workplace leader. Designed around real-world demands, you’ll develop practical knowledge in business operations, governance, compliance and the delivery of strategic initiatives. You'll learn how to support people and performance effectively, communicate clearly and manage priorities.

Through live online learning, coaching workshops and management masterclasses, you’ll strengthen your ability to organise work, adapt to change, improve performance and tackle challenges with confidence.

On completion, you'll achieve a Chartered Management Institute (CMI) Leadership Academy qualification, CMI Foundation Chartered Manager status and Leader as Coach accreditation – so you can build credibility and progress in your management career.

Course structure

Months 1-3

Navigating Business Sectors and Organisational Structures

Develop a clear understanding of how organisations operate, including their purpose, activities and direction for the future.

Months 4-6

Understanding Governance, Politics and Compliance

Gain insight into the principles of business governance and the importance of compliance within the workplace.

Months 7-9

Managing Day-to-Day Business Operations

Develop knowledge of core business principles, including managing change, financial awareness and day-to-day operational processes.

Months 10-12

Planning and Delivering Successful Projects

Build practical project management skills to support the successful delivery of business initiatives.

Understand transactional analysis, parent, adult and child ego states and how they can help us to think about our own states before engaging with others. 

'We': Working with Others

Practise holding coaching models like GROW and solutions focused lightly to reflect the different types of conversations and engagements they will have with others. 

'They': Working within an Organisation

Reflect on experiences of applying coaching approaches within the organisation and with key stakeholders.

Personal and Team Effectiveness

Develop a strong foundation in personal and team effectiveness to support their transition into and growth within management. 

Managing Performance and Conflict

Explore how to manage performance and address workplace conflict. 

The Management Impact Project

Building on and complimenting the core Project Management module, you’ll develop the skills to plan, deliver and evaluate a workplace project or process.
