Course structure
The preparation course for each assessment is structured into two training modules, plus mock assessments.
Build your knowledge of the law, procedure and rules of evidence in a practical setting. Targeted preparation for the written assessment.
Hone and enhance your case analysis, case theory, advocacy and presentation skills. Targeted preparation for all components of the practical assessment: interim applications, examination in chief, cross examination and trial speech skills
Undertake a written mock assessment within a one-week window (allow 2.5 hours) and prepare for and attend your practical mock assessment and receive feedback (a 2-hour slot will be allocated to you on the practical mock assessment date). Marks and feedback will be provided for both mock assessments.
Developing your understanding of ethics and professional standards is continuous throughout the course. Our experts will ensure you are fully versed in potential ethical situations that may arise and how to deal with them both in the HRA assessments and in practice.
HRA Preparation Course FAQs
Higher Rights of Audience (HRA) is a qualification that allows solicitors to represent clients as advocates in the higher courts of England and Wales, including the Crown Court, High Course, Court of Appeal, and Supreme Court. This means that solicitors can conduct complex litigation without needing to instruct a barrister.
