BPP is the first provider to have students sit the End Point Assessment for the Level 4 Professional Accounting Technician Apprenticeship

BPP is the first provider to have students sit the End Point Assessment for the Level 4 Professional Accounting Technician Apprenticeship and apprentices achieved a 95% pass rate sitting exams with both ACCA and ICAEW. As this is unchartered territory for any training provider, the results paint a stunning narrative for the students and everyone else involved.

The Professional Accounting Technician Apprenticeship provides a new way to train as a professional accountant. While talent from this route may be new to employers, the results show that HR managers or any in the procurement process can trust the quality of candidates coming from an apprenticeship route.

Many of the apprentices training with BPP are employed by Deloitte and Emma Codd, Managing Partner for Talent at Deloitte commented:  “Deloitte is very proud to have contributed to the development of this new trailblazing apprenticeship. Over the past 15 months our BrightStart students have shown enormous dedication to developing the skills, knowledge and behaviours required for the apprenticeship standard. We wish them every success in their future career with the firm.

ICAEW Executive Director of Learning & Professional Development, Mark Protherough, said: “I would like to offer my congratulations to all our Level 4 Accounting Technician apprenticeship students who have surpassed themselves with their exam results this January. It is fantastic to see such high pass rates. These individuals are carving their way into the business world and these results show a promising future for all students. I would like to wish them the best of luck in their future careers.

Similar sentiments were echoed by Head of ACCA Claire Bennison ‘These impressive pass rates stand testament to the quality of teaching and how effective support for students equals success. Our Generation Next research shows that young people have ambitious aspirations for their careers, and apprenticeships offer an alternative pathway to achieve these aspirations. We need to keep business resilient to change and drive growth, and our apprenticeships develop professional accountants with the skills that meet future business needs. It’s great to see these strong results and ACCA offers our congratulations to the hard-working students and the tutors who have been so instrumental in this accomplishment.

BPP looks forward to supporting many of these apprentices as they now progress on to the new Level 7 Accountancy Professional apprenticeship.
