Student Welfare and Support
Encompassing Learning Support, Mental Health and Wellbeing Support, and Safeguarding, our Student Welfare and Support Service work closely with other BPP services so that you can thrive both personally and academically.


Learning Support
If you are neurodiverse, have a learning difficulty or disability, or have any wellbeing or mental health issues, we can help ensure reasonable adjustments are made so you can access all services and participate fully in your learning.
Our team are knowledgeable, friendly and handle everything in total confidence. They offer a wide range of support for sensory difficulties, mobility difficulty, ADHD, Asperger Syndrome, mental health, dyslexia, dyspraxia and general health problems.

Mental Health and Wellbeing
Our Mental Health and Wellbeing team provide inclusive, accessible and friendly support to help you succeed in both your studies and personal life. Our experienced advisers offer personalised guidance on a range of wellbeing concerns to help you navigate your time at BPP with confidence.

Safeguarding
Safeguarding is the protection of people’s health, welfare, and human rights, enabling them to live free from harm, abuse, and neglect. For as long as you are studying with us, we have a duty of care to look after you.
If you are in a situation where you feel unsafe, are worried about your welfare, or feel like you are at risk or harm, contact our Safeguarding team who will signpost you to support.

Inclusion
Our values ensure we learn through understanding and tolerance, with the ability to challenge divisive or radical threats to tolerance and respect. If you see or experience anything that doesn’t sound or look right, including discrimination and harassment, please let us know and we will follow up.

Disclosure and confidentiality
All information disclosed to BPP or discussed with a member of the Student Welfare and Support team will be dealt with in the strictest confidence. It will only be shared with staff at BPP and, where specialist support is provided, with our specialist support staff on a ‘need to know’ basis.
We encourage you to tell us about any learning difficulty, disability or health condition when making your application. This ensures that we can plan support in advance.
Further support
Disabled Students Allowance
If you are a university student with disabilities or learning difficulties, you may be eligible for the Disabled Students' Allowance (DSA). We strongly advise potential applicants to apply for DSA as early as possible before the start of their course.Other sources of funding
You may be eligible for other funding if you are a student with a disability or learning difficulties. Please contact us for more information.Reasonable adjustments in examinations and assessments
If you have a learning difficulty or disability, you may be entitled to reasonable adjustments in your examinations and assessments. You must contact the Student Welfare and Support team to arrange this at least one month before the exam.
What I really like about BPP is how much they care for our wellbeing. There are support teams available for people with disabilities, who require mental health support, as well as events and activities to help us feel part of a community.
