Building an environment of continuous professional development

How do apprenticeships help your business?

Apprenticeships provide colleagues with industry recognised qualifications, while allowing them to gain skills and evidence their application within their role. They also expose colleagues to projects which impact the ‘real world’, not just the theory, and how these things are applied in the broader marketplace and sector.

What have been the positive effects of an apprenticeship programme?

Increasing the skillset of the organisation, through the continuous sharing of learnings with other colleagues, builds an environment supportive of continuous professional development. In addition, the apprenticeship programme helps to build a pipeline of specialists needed for our continued digital transformation, with a close eye on emerging technologies and market changes.Flexibility across the BPP product range enables us to define the requirements of specific types of colleagues, which is evidenced by employee retention, excellent exam results, programme passes and colleagues whose passion has been reignited for learning.

How has TSB Bank Plc managed new ways of working for apprentices?

During the last 10 months. colleagues across the bank have had huge challenges to overcome, I am immensely proud that we have continued to support colleagues in their studies with new and existing programmes.  Colleagues have continued to benefit from the support from the programme increasing their skillsets, and in some cases been able to translate the impacts of COVID-19 directly into their apprenticeship programme as a case study.

We’ve worked in partnership with BPP for almost 10 years. We are supported by knowledgeable and willing staff who deliver excellent ROI through their interactions with TSB colleagues and support us in delivery of our primary corporate objectives. Through their wide range of programmes, we are able to identify the skills needed to support the evolution of our business. I both value and put a great deal of trust in the expertise of the team at BPP who’ve always demonstrated a great appetite in understanding the intricacies of our business and how we translate these into successful apprenticeship programmes.
