Entry requirements

The entry requirements to study the MSc Management with Human Resource Management are as follows:  

  • Minimum of a 2:2 Honours degree from a UK or recognised international university or equivalent such as the CMI, ILM, CIM, AICPA & CIMA at Level 6 or above.  

Following a review of applications, you may be required to:  

  • Attend a face-to-face interview, or  

  • Take part in a telephone interview

Course structure

Term 1

Leading Through Digital Change (15 credits)

This module encourages you to engage with both current and classic strategic theories to understand the context of strategy in business organisations. You will examine the various tools and techniques available to managers for assessing the internal and external organisational environments. 

Managing Customer Experience (15 credits)

With developments in marketing channels, brand choices, ecommerce and globalisation, the customer journey and the role of marketing has evolved. Now businesses must focus on the customer experience (CX) – improving how individuals interact with products or services. 

Principles of Management (30 credits)

Managers today need to develop a mastery of a blend of strategic thinking, business decision-making and management skills. This module is designed for managers seeking to develop themselves and their practice, using evidence-based theories and concepts. 

Term 2

Artificial Intelligence for Business Managers  (15 credits)

This module develops the skills you need to assess organisational readiness for AI; ensuring you can evaluate the role of leadership in AI-enabled organisations, understand the strategic implications of AI adoption and strike the balance between human judgement and AI insights.

Applied Strategy and Consultancy Practice (15 credits)

HR Managers and consultants must be capable of diagnosing organisational challenges.This module places you in the role of a human resource management consultant engaged by an organisation facing a strategic challenge or opportunity. You will learn how to investigate organisations systematically using strategic management frameworks, sustainability assessment tools and consultancy research techniques. 

Principles of Human Resource Management (30 credits) 

This module introduces the fundamental principles and practices of Human Resource Management, examining how organisations manage and develop their workforce to achieve business objectives. The module provides a foundation for understanding the role of HR in supporting organisational effectiveness, employee wellbeing, and sustainable business performance. 

Term 3

Human Resources Management Strategy and Practice (30 credits)

This module explores the strategic and practical aspects of Human Resource Management and its role in supporting organisational success. The module develops an understanding of how effective people management contributes to employee engagement, organisational performance, and the achievement of business objectives in a dynamic and evolving workplace. 

Business Consultancy Project (30 credits)

Consolidate your learning and experience to date with the opportunity to demonstrate the commercial and business acumen needed to succeed and develop at senior management levels.

Professional Development Planning(exclusive to 18-month programme)

Our 18-month programme comes with our Professional Development Planning (PDP) built in. With this extra support, you’ll enhance your post-study work visa opportunities and set yourself up for success by gaining skills that are critical to today’s global job market.

How will you study

Contact hours

Full-time students will typically receive eight contact hours per week and will need to devote at least 30 hours a week to study.  

Learning materials

All required learning materials are provided online as part of the course fee. This reflects modern working practices and minimises our environmental impact. Print on demand versions are available for students with specific learning needs.


Types of assessment

The programme features a variety of assessments including coursework and examinations.  

Coursework is in the form of essays, reports or case studies, while group or individual presentations may be required to assess other competencies.  

Examinations will be with written elements or multiple-choice questions and may be unseen or part-seen, where assessment material is released in advance.  

BPP University offers flexibility in how these assessments are undertaken, and the programmes will utilise online tools where available to deliver assessments. On occasion, some assessments may require attendance at a physical location.

A deposit of £350 will need to be paid within 48 hours of accepting your offer, in order to secure your place.
