Our BSc (Hons) Business Management [Top-up] programme enables you to build your existing business management qualification and experience into a valuable and recognised BSc Honours degree. It has been designed to develop your understanding of key management principles alongside a range of career-ready skills. Upon successful completion you will be fully prepared to pursue and sustain a career in a range of private, public and voluntary sector organisations. Your Business Management top-up degree

The programme has been designed to prepare you for a range of roles within today’s business environment. Working in business includes a rich and varied number of areas such as finance, marketing, human resources and information technology. This programme will help you identify where your interests and strengths lie. You will also complete your qualification with a broader understanding of how your own management skills will integrate within a business environment.

This qualification will broaden and strengthen the knowledge and experience you have gained from earlier studies at HND level, or via a recognised professional qualification. Our Induction Programme

Before starting your first term you will take part in a two-week induction programme to prepare you for your studies with us and to ensure you have everything you need to succeed in your programme.

Career-ready Skills

This programme has a strong focus on the career-ready skills that employers expect such as communication, problem solving and leadership. Upon completion of the programme you will not only receive a valuable and recognised BSc Honours degree but you will also have the key skills for a business career. Alongside these, this programme will encourage you to develop as a manager and leader through a range of presentations, simulations and group work.

Business Integration Project

The Business Integration Project gives you the opportunity to consolidate the knowledge gained during your studies. Across the two modules you will pursue a business issue of interest and relevance to your career aspirations so you can create a practical solution. This project aims to improve your employability whilst giving you the opportunity to gain an in-depth knowledge of a specific industry or market that you may want to enter. This foundation can give you a significant advantage in interview situations.

Entry requirements

Admission to the programme requires completion and certification of one of the following qualifications:

  • A foundation degree in Business Higher National Diploma (Scottish Qualifications Agency) in Business or Business with Accounting, Business with Human Resource Management; Business with Marketing; or Financial Services; or Global Trade with Business (admission to the programme with an SQA HND requires successful completion and certification of this qualification, with the graded assessments at a minimum of Grade B)

English language requirements

If your first language is not English you will need an IELTS level 6.0 (overall) or equivalent, plus a minimum of 6.0 in writing in addition to the above entry requirements.

If you have the minimum overall IELTS of 6.0 or equivalent, you will be required to attend In-sessional Study Skills Support classes, alongside the programme during the first term of studies, at no additional cost.

Teaching beyond coursework

At BPP University, we have a dedicated Careers service in place to give students an 'edge'. This comes in the form of professional support and guidance given in a range of ways. Which together ensure you have a rounded and professional approach to finding and securing a graduate role when you finish your studies.

The Careers Service provides one-to-one consultations, mock interviews and career events. You can even receive advice on preparing your all-important CV, filling in application forms and essential interview techniques.

Just as importantly, you are also offered 'Career-Ready Skills' workshops throughout the year. Developed with employers, the skills taught have been identified as those critical to the success of organisations and cover everything from negotiation and presentation techniques to time management.

It is never too early to start learning all the essential skills you will need to secure a position, which is why you can begin taking advantage of our careers services as soon as you have accepted a place at BPP University, and continue to access the Careers Service for 12 months after you leave.

Your student experience

BPP University Students' Association has thousands of members with students across all ten BPP University sites and studying online. Every student of BPP University automatically becomes a member of the Students' Association when they start their programme. The Association aims to put you, the student, at the heart of everything BPP University does, giving you:

  • Information, support and guidance about your academic and personal life
  • Academic, cultural, social and professional enrichment through the development of clubs, societies, events and initiatives

Undergraduate Loans

UK students applying for our Undergraduate courses can apply for Tuition Fee Loans and Maintenance Loans to help cover the cost of tuition fees and living costs whilst studying (subject to eligibility). Tuition Fee Loans are also available for EU students.

If you are applying for a programme begining before September 2017:

You can apply for a tuition fee loan up to a maximum of £6,000 (full-time) or £4,500 (part-time) per academic year. For students from Northern Ireland, the maximum tuition fee loan available is £3,805 per academic year.

If you are applying for a programme begining in September 2017 or onwards:

You can apply for a tuition fee loan up to a maximum of £6,165 (full-time) or £4,625 (part-time) per academic year. For students from Northern Ireland, the maximum tuition fee loan available is £3,805 per academic year.

Students should note that from September 2017, BPP University's fee are above the maximum tuition loan available of £6,165 per year and students would therefore need to self-fund the difference. To find out more visit our undergraduate loans page

Please note - if at any point during your studies you change modes of study or the speed at which you complete your studies, we will be required to notify the Student Loans Company as this may have funding implications.

For those who need it, BPP University’s Student Services support team can provide funding advice and assistance. This includes information on other options open to you, such as bursaries and grants from professional bodies, charities, employers and other institutions who give financial support. For instance, funding may be available through scholarships, interest-free payment plans, the Student Loans Company (slc.co.uk) or Future Finance student loans*.
