Perfect preparation for a UK degree

The BPP Pre-sessional English Language, Communication and Study Skills course is the perfect preparation for non-native English speaking students who are about to pursue successful degree studies through BPP.

Open to all non-UK students, the course provides you with intense preparation for your chosen degree, by teaching you the necessary and relevant English and study skills that you will need to complete your qualifications.

Learning outcomes

You will have the opportunity to increase your knowledge of English grammar and vocabulary; develop your reading, writing, speaking and listening skills, and ultimately progress onto your chosen degree course without needing to re-take any external English language tests.

Dates and duration

Our Pre-sessional English Language course lasts one term, and takes place prior to your beginning your chosen BPP degree. There are three start dates throughout the year in:

• September
• January 
• May

You will receive 16 hours of tutor time per week, which gives you an extensive opportunity to improve your knowledge of English and, in turn, your chances of career success.

As well as pure language, the course will also provide you with the presentation, analytical and debating skills that you will need to successfully apply the English language during your studies.

How you will be assessed

In order to progress on to your BPP degree, you’ll need to successfully complete both the pre-sessional English course and an in-house assessment of your English language skills. These tests will cover various forms of communication:

• reading
• writing
• speaking
• listening
• oral, and
• written academic language style.

Once you have completed these tests, you’ll be able to take your BPP degree without re-taking any external English Language tests.
