Credits

Credits are awarded to those who hold qualifications from other professional bodies. The following qualifications are recognised by the CIOT.

• ATT students are exempt from the Ethics E-Assessment. The credit is valid for nine sittings from the date the paper was passed at the ATT.
• ACA, ICAS, ICAI, ACCA (P6) students are awarded a credit from the Application and Interaction paper. The credit is valid for five sittings from the candidate's first sitting of a CTA written tax paper.
• Students who have passed exams to become Solicitors or Barristers are exempt from the Law E-assessment. There is no time limit on this credit.
• Other credits will be awarded to those who have passed certain examinations offered by HMRC, IIT or the CIOT's ADIT qualification. The credit is valid for five sittings from the candidate's first sitting of a CTA written tax paper.
