CTA stands for Chartered Tax Adviser. This is the ultimate professional taxation qualification, which gives you the choice of three routes to enable you to tailor your studies to your specialist area of taxation.
How to achieve CTA status
You must:
- Achieve 40 correct responses out of 60 for each E-Assessment taken
- Achieve a pass mark of 50% or above in your chosen papers
- Demonstrate you have three years' relevant professional experience
- Be a fit and suitable person.
The Chartered Institute of Taxation
The CIOT is the UK's leading professional body concerned solely with taxation. It boasts international standing in taxation affairs and is a UK member body on the Confédération Fiscale Européenne, the umbrella body for 150,000 tax advisers in Europe. The CIOT has approximately 14,000 members, including most of the UK's leading taxation experts.
