Government loans and grants

If you are applying to BPP as an undergraduate student you're fully entitled to apply for government funding - just as you would if you were studying for a degree at any other UK university.

What is changing from September 2012?

If you start your course before 1 September 2012 you will continue on the old student finance scheme.

If you start university or college after 1 September 2012 (academic year 2012/13), you will be on a new student finance scheme.

The main changes are:

  • tuition fee loans will go up to cover the higher fees (BPP fees are set below the loan threshold at £5,000 a year)
  • you don’t start repaying your loan until you earn £21,000 (up from £15,000)
  • part-time students can apply for a Tuition Fee Loan (replacing grants).
