CISI Certificate in Corporate Finance

As the first stage of the CF qualification, the CISI Certificate in Corporate Finance tests your understanding of basic corporate finance concepts and the regulatory environment.

  • FSA's Conduct of Business Rules
  • Equity capital markets
  • The Takeover Code
  • Basic accounting
  • Basic quantitative techniques
  • Introduction to corporate finance

Study time

Around 100 hours.

Assessment

Two one-hour units: Corporate Finance Regulation and Corporate Finance Technical Foundations. Each unit is examined via 50 multiple choice questions.

Course duration

Three days.

Exemptions

Holders of an FSSC appropriate examination (e.g. the ACA qualification) will be granted full credit against this stage and may proceed to the Diploma stage.

ICAEW Diploma in Corporate Finance

The second stage in the CF qualification, the ICAEW Diploma is open to newly qualified accountants and candidates with at least six months corporate finance experience. To qualify, you will need to have successfully passed the certificate stage or hold the relevant exemption.

Entry requirements

Entry requirements for the CF qualification vary according to whether you are a UK or international student. In the UK, to qualify for the Diploma level you'll need to have passed the CISI Certificate in Corporate Finance. You will qualify for an exemption if you hold an appropriate FSSC exam or members of ICAEW, ICAS and ICAI. Please note that being a member of ACCA does not grant this exemption.
