This theory-based module is aimed at nursing staff who have specialised in the field of vascular care. The module will suit nurses who wish to gain further knowledge on the more complex conditions and treatments in relation to vascular patient care. While gaining a greater understanding of the service provisions required in meeting the needs of patients with vascular conditions.

Programme details

The educational aim of this module is to provide nursing staff with a greater understanding of the service provisions required in meeting the needs of patients with vascular conditions. The module is suitable for professionals at band 5 or above or for individuals who aspire to progress to such roles.

How is it taught?

The Module will be completed online with lectures and learning materials accessed via the Virtual Learning Environment (VLE).

Tutorials will be provided to support you throughout term and will be provided via Skype, online or by telephone. You will be required to join three discussion board sessions on the VLE with your peers and the academic tutor will monitor this.

Assessment using an appropriate Education Tool will take place at the start, mid-point and end of the programme. These assessments will be articulated through critical reflective accounts and discussed with the academic.

Students will complete a range of academic assessments work linking theory and practice to enhance care practice, patient care and or service development and performance.


Vascular Nursing Care - 20 credits

Entry Requirements

To be admitted to the programme candidates must be:

  • Registered Nurses with current registration to practice completed at Diploma Level and above
  • HCPC registered with current registration

You must have:

  • Evidence of current and valid Registration either HCPC or NMC

English language requirements

Provide evidence of instruction and assessment predominantly in English throughout education

Provide evidence of a recent IELTS or equivalent score of 7.0 overall, with a minimum of 7.0 for each component.
