Preparing you for Master's study

Our International Pre-Masters Diploma in Busness Studies makes sure you are equipped with the business knowledge and advanced learning and communication skills required for UK masters study. The programme is offered full-time over one academic year, starting in September, January and May.

  • Minimum age - you must be a minimum of 18 years old at the start of the course
  • Class sizes - for your English classes normally these will be of a maximum of 20 students and often many fewer- averaging 15 students (depending on the time of year) for the 'academic' subjects normally these will be of a maximum of 25 students and often many fewer- averaging 20 students (depending on the time of year)
  • Hours of study – you will have 16 hours face-to-face tuition including breaks (there will be homework and self-study to undertake in addition)
  • Timetable - your lessons will usually be held between either 9am and 1pm, or 2pm and 6pm, each day, over 5 days.
  • Books - study books or on-line study books are included within the fees

A warm welcome

We understand that moving to a new country can be a daunting prospect, so we make every effort to ease your transition to the UK. The programme encourages social and cultural integration with a range of activities. You'll also have a personal tutor and fellow student 'study buddy' to work with throughout the programme.

How the programme is taught

To enhance your learning experience, classes are taught in small seminars by tutors and lecturers from both professional and academic backgrounds. Each seminar is followed up with tutorials and practical workshops to reinforce what you've learnt. In total you'll have a minimum of 16 hours face-to-face tutor contact each week, with regular feedback throughout the programme.

Self-study is also vital to your learning. For this you'll be supported by extensive online materials which you can access through our 'Blackboard' portal – anytime anywhere.

Extra learning support

Progress reviews are part of the tutorials and tutors are always there to help. But if you need extra learning support our 'Help Desk' sessions provide answers to any questions you may have. International student advisors are also available to help you adapt your learning style to the requirements of a UK Master's degree.

Ways to study

Our International Pre-Masters Diploma in Business Studies is a full-time programme lasting one academic year, combining face-to-face teaching with self-study. Face-to-face classes are taught at our study centres in London.

You can start this programme in September, January or May and study for one academic year (approximately nine months). Dates and times for future programmes will be available here soon.

Pre-Sessional English course available

Our Pre-Sessional English course is designed for international students who want or need to improve their English before beginning their BPP University degree or foundation programme. Successfully passing the course will guarantee you progression on to your chosen degree programme without needing to re-take any external English language tests. You will have the opportunity to increase your knowledge of general and academic English and develop your reading, writing, speaking and listening skills.

Entry requirements

English language

  • IELTS score of 5.5 overall (with 5.5 in writing) or equivalent

Educational background

  • You must be 18 years or over at the start of the programme
  • A recognised higher/advanced diploma in a related subject area (NARIC recognised) NQF/QCF Level 5 (Work experience in a related area can increase this range for diploma holders); or
  • A recognised degree in a related field (e.g. Business Studies) (NARIC recognised) NQF/QCF Level 5; or
  • A degree in any subject (e.g. BA International Relations)

Paying for your programme

Pre-Masters Diploma in Business Studies programme fee is £12,500

A deposit of £250 will need to be paid within 48 hours of accepting your offer, in order to secure your place.

Additional charges

In addition to your programme fees, there may be additional charges associated with your studies, which include:

Resit fees to repeat a 20-credit module £530
Resit fees to repeat a 30-credit module £800
