
The Institute of Chartered Accountants of England and Wales (ICAEW)
introduced its new syllabus in September 2007. The aim of the ICAEW
qualification is to ensure that all newly qualified Chartered
Accountants have the appropriate technical, professional,
commercial and ethical skills.
Syllabus
The ICAEW Qualification encompasses two levels: Professional
Stage and Advanced Stage. BPP Learning Media only produces study
materials for the Professional Level.
The Professional Stage
The Professional Stage syllabus comprises of 12 modules. The 12
modules are split into two levels as follows:
- The Knowledge Level - provides students with core technical
skills
- The Application Level - allows students to demonstrate their
knowledge in a practical environment.
Examination Sittings
- The Knowledge Level - exams are computer-based assessments and
can be attempted at any time
- The Application Level - there are four sittings a year in
March, June, September and December.
