The Certified Internal Auditor (CIA) qualification, offered by the Institute of Internal Auditors (IIA), is the only globally recognised certification for Internal Auditors. The exams test candidates' knowledge of current internal audit practices and understanding of internal audit issues, risks and remedies. It is suitable for anyone working in the field of internal auditing.

The qualification is made up of four modules covering a wide range of internal audit topics as well as finance, accounting, information technology and business management skills.
