A student using the practical legal research areaBPP is a leading provider of professional legal education with over 4,500 full, part-time and distance learning law students. We have four specifically designed and highly equipped Law Schools, based in Leeds, London (Holborn and Waterloo) or Manchester.

BPP specialises in training the barristers and solicitors of tomorrow through our Graduate Diploma in Law conversion course, Legal Practice Course and Bar Vocational Course.

We offer a wide range of electives to choose from on both the LPC and BVC so that we can prepare you for whatever type of practice you intend to work in whether it’s commercial, city, high street, or specialist.

We collaborate with a wide range of firms and organisations through our award-winning Pro Bono Centre and practice focussed careers schemes and our LPC has been developed in conjunction with five leading City law firms.

Specialist Careers Service

BPP's function is to train people to become the barristers and solicitors of tomorrow. As such, we view a first rate and dedicated careers service as an integral part of the service we provide.

 

The Careers Service's aim is to help you secure a training contract or pupillage by providing specialist advice essential for your future career. We offer one-to-one advice and guidance from specialist advisers, careers tutors (many of whom have worked in practice and sat on recruitment selection panels) and practitioners from all areas of legal practice.

 

To recruit a BPP graduate, law firms, in-house legal teams, the CPS, Central and local government regularly advertise vacancies with our Careers Service.

 

Your careers support will start start as soon as you accept your place at BPP and even after you graduate, we can help with your continuing professional development..

Practical experience while you study

Our Pro Bono Centre works closely with a number of organisations to deliver innovative projects earning us The Lawyer's 'Pro Bono Activity of the Year' award. Pro bono projects allow you to become involved in dealing with real legal problems brought to the Law School by members of the public (under the supervision of a qualified solicitor) while making a positive contribution to the community.

 

We offer traditional schemes alongside pioneering projects which have been featured in the legal press.

 

Pro bono work provides your first taste of what life will be like in practice and will look great on your CV!

Flexibility

we have four law schools across the country, situated in Leeds, London (Holborn and Waterloo) and Manchester. Our programmes allow you to specialise in your chosen area of law while utilising the latest e-learning technology to achieve maximum flexibility as to where and how you study.

 

Options are available to attend Law School during the day, in the evening, at the weekend or to study via distance learning. Our 'Four Locations - One Law School' ethos means that your overall experience of BPP will be of an equally high standard, regardless of the location, the programme or the study option you choose.

Award-winning facilities and information technology

Our buildings are designed to simulate a business-like environment and are equipped with the latest e-learning technology including smart boards and Law Campus, our student intranet, which offers a variety of learning resources and revision aids including interactive modules, podcasts, videos and multiple choice tests.

Our specialist law libraries have long opening hours and our laptop loan scheme allows you to take advantage of wireless networking and 24 hour remote access to one of the UK's largest and most advanced on-line law libraries.

Special Needs Officers are allocated to accommodate a wide variety of individual requirements and BPP operates various scholarship programmes to assist those with financial hardship.

 

As part of your induction to the Law School, we arrange welcome drinks and course parties. BPP also supports a wide variety of student led clubs, societies, sports teams, quizzes, student balls and mooting competitions.

 

Depending on which programme you have chosen to study, a variety of mentoring schemes and personal tutor initiatives are in place to support both full-time and part-time students - whether you are a recent graduate or someone who is returning to education.

 

Our Law Schools have comfortable common areas with free internet access, satellite television, pool tables, table football and on-site subsidised cafes. BPP's Student Advantage scheme offers discounts from a variety of businesses around the local area.
