CIMA resits

What resit courses do you offer?

All operational, management and strategic courses are supported by online resit courses. These include online lectures, walkthroughs of past exams, including marked student answers, forums with online tutor support.

All the online material will be available from 12 January, with the course going live with tutor support from 16 January 2012, allowing you to get started on the resit as soon as possible. Find out how to book a CIMA resit course.

What is a PC-based resit day?

At strategic level we offer a PC-based exam question day. PC-based exams are dramatically different to paper exams, and our resit days are designed to help you to get used to the format and build your confidence.

On the resit day you sit a PC exam to time with an experienced tutor is on hand to debrief, mark and give you key learning points. You'll also receive an emailed exam marked with personal feedback. You can book a resit using the booking options on the CIMA course page.

What if my resit exam overlaps my next course?

When you get your results, you can book onto your resit as well as any other exams you wish to take. If you find out on 22 March 2012 that you have not passed your resit, BPP allows you to defer or roll over any of the standard courses you’ve booked onto to the next sitting with no additional cost. Remember, you don’t have to book any May exams until you have your resit results.

You can book a resit using the booking options on the CIMA course page.

I want to re-sit T4, which course do I take?

How did you feel about the T4 exam you just completed? If you feel you need more work and support, it’s best to attend the standard integrated classroom course. If you feel you were close to passing, then you can take our shorter three-day version of the course where you spend a day analysing the new preseen, and then two days on mock exams.

You can book a T4 resit using the booking options on the CIMA course page.

When I book an online resit course, does BPP enter me for the exams as well?

BPP will enter you for the exam when you book your online resit course for the February/March sitting. Email to regionalcimaexams@bpp.com and we’ll send you the relevant documentation to fill out and arrange the booking for you.

You can also book an online resit using the booking options on the CIMA course page.

Paper order

I’ve passed F1, would I be best to do P1 next or another one from the same pillar?

We would recommend that you take F2 in the next sitting so that some of the assumed knowledge from F1 in the F2 syllabus is fresh in your mind (things like basic Groups for example).

You can book your next CIMA paper(s) using the booking options on the CIMA course page.

What order should I take my papers in?

There are no rigid progression rules for Operational and Management levels, however, if you are attempting two papers at a time we recommend you study the following route:

  • E1 Enterprise Operations + F1 Financial Operations
  • P1 Enterprise Management + F2 Performance operations
  • E2 Financial Management + P2 Performance Management

You must complete all the Operational and Management levels before you can attempt Strategic level. At Strategic level, you must take all papers together at your first attempt.

You can book your next CIMA paper(s) using the booking options on the CIMA course page.

Are there any restrictions on the order in which I can sit operational and management papers?

You can sit them in any order you wish but at BPP we would always recommend that you sit the '1' papers before you do the '2' papers as there’s an element of assumed knowledge and particularly for F1 and F2 they flow directly on from one another. So it makes your life a lot easier to complete the '1's' before you progress to the '2's'.

You can book your next CIMA paper(s) using the booking options on the CIMA course page.

I’ve passed F1, should I do F2, E2 or P2 next?

If you can only do one exam (for example, due to time commitments) we would recommend moving straight on to F2. With those two papers there is an extensive amount of overlap in terms of assumed knowledge. Whichever paper you take, with BPP you’ll get online lectures which cover any assumed knowledge so that you can recap on anything you’re not sure about.

Is it possible to sit three exams in one sitting?

Technically yes and many students do, but importantly be realistic about the time commitment required to sit three papers. If you have sufficient support from your employer and enough study time then it is manageable but it will be very difficult – you’ll be working very hard.

You can book your next CIMA paper(s) using the booking options on the CIMA course page.

How much of E3 relies on assumed knowledge from E1 and E2?

With E3, you will find that the vast majority of technical knowledge you will need to pass the exam will be covered on the course, plus specific topics from earlier in the E-pillar are covered in detail as part of the online support for your course.

I want to sit T4, how do I book and when are the courses?

You can find information on dates and prices for T4 on the CIMA course page. To book please email topcima@bpp.com who will send you the correct booking form. If you would like to speak with someone please call 0845 226 9688.

When should I sit T4?

If you are considering sitting T4 we would recommend that you sit it in March so that in the worse case scenario you can use the same preseen in the May exam. It’s worthwhile having that as a security option. You can book your next CIMA T4 using the booking options on the CIMA course page.

I took BPP CIMA T4 over a year ago and was unsuccessful. Can I still use Pass Assurance?

Unfortunately pass assurance only applies for the sitting after you complete your exam. However, if you need the Q&A booklet on the preseen this can be bought separately from our learning media section.

BPP CIMA courses

What is a question day?

A question day is a one-day course at the end of the revision days for CIMA, quite close to the exam. During the question day you sit a whole exam to time at a BPP centre. While you’re sitting the exam, our team of experienced tutors mark the scripts and at the end give you detailed feedback. It's a really helpful session to ensure you can improve on any elements of your technique and technical knowledge right before the exam.

You can book a question day using the booking options on the CIMA course page.

What does ‘integrated’ mean for T4?

For T4 we run a single course which teaches you any technical knowledge and exam technique as you’re moving through. This means you’ll be practising lots of mock exams throughout your course and will receive lots of detailed feedback on mock papers. You’ll spend a lot of time on the pre-seen and we’ll do a fair amount of analysis on it for you. Networking and sharing ideas with your course mates too.

For any information relating to booking a T4 course contact topcima@bpp.com or refer to our CIMA course page.
