BSC APPLIED ACCOUNTING

It is possible, while studying for your ACCA exams, to obtain a Bachelor of Science degree (Hons) in Applied Accounting awarded by Oxford Brookes University. You are eligible to undertake the Oxford Brookes BSc project after completion of the Fundamentals level.

To obtain your BSc you need to:

  • Complete a Research and Analysis project based on a 6,500-word report on a topic suggested by Oxford Brookes University
  • Produce a Skills and Learning Statement of 2,500 words
  • Present your findings.

How does BPP help?

  • One-day Oxford Brookes seminar: practical guidance on research, analysis and report writing. The seminar goes over Oxford Brookes guidelines and assists students in topic selection. Runs two or three times a year.
  • Full-mentoring service: run by one of our expert tutors. Students get 3 hours of one-to-one sessions (more if required) to discuss their progress. Meeting times are decided between student and mentor.

What materials do I get?

BPP Learning Media provides a ‘Success in your Research & Analysis Project’ study text. The text approved by the ACCA includes:

  • Latest version of the official guidelines
  • Guidance on the skills to be tested and tips on how to manage the work
  • Advice on meetings with the mentor, report writing and Key Skills statement.

Why the BSc in Applied accounting?

Completion of the project shows that you are highly motivated, a self-starter, keen to learn new skills and able to write a formal business document. In addition to this, it is another opportunity for you to add an additional qualification to your CV and enhance your career prospects.
