Advocacy

At BPP we pride ourselves on our reputation for advocacy training for both civil and criminal
practitioners. The programme below offers a complete range of courses to take you from your first
steps in the lower courts through to specialist practitioner advocacy in the higher and appellate
courts. The courses can be taken individually or as part of a programme of courses. We are also able to offer a bespoke tailoring service to adapt our advocacy courses to the specific needs of your firm.

In addition, we offer various training and assessment options for the current Higher Rights of Audience regime and also, from April 2010, a new programme of courses, including e-learning options, designed to boost your success in the new assessments under the new Higher Courts Qualification regime.

All tutors are in practice or have recent, relevant experience of practice. Many have specialist
accreditation in the teaching of advocacy. Using the most up-to-date and advanced teaching techniques with the emphasis on ‘experiential learning’ or ‘learning through doing’, delegates are coached, guided and encouraged in interactive sessions using lectures, discussions, practical exercises and case studies to enable them to enjoy and use their new-found skills and develop their expertise as advocates.
