Why CIA?

Certified Internal Auditor (CIA) is the only globally accepted designation for internal auditors and remains the standard individuals set themselves t0 meet today’s workplace challenges. Earning the CIA designation is more than just proof of what you know and what you have achieved.

CIA Syllabus

The CIA qualification is structured in four parts. Parts I, II and III are considered the core global syllabus of the CIA exam, while Part IV is designed for modification to meet regional and audit specialisation testing.

CIA Courses

BPP organises courses for the first three Parts, because of the possibility of exemptions for Part IV. On demand we can also organise courses for Part IV.

Eligibility Requirements

CIA recipients represent the elite of the internal audit profession. CIA candidates must have the following:

  • A bachelor’s degree or its educational equivalent form an accredited college-level institution
  • Character reference form 
  • Minimum of two years of internal audit experience

CPE Points

The Board of Regents requires that after CIA certification members maintain their knowledge and skills and stay abreast of improvements and current developments in their area of certification through Continuing Professional Education (CPE). This is facilitated through a self-certification process with the completion and reporting of required CPE hours on a biennial basis.
