Founded in 1919 as 'The Institute of Costs and Works Accountants', the Chartered Institute of Management Accountants offers an internationally respected management qualification.

With more than 88,000 registered students, CIMA is Britain's fastest growing accountancy body. The relevance of CIMA's qualification is becoming increasingly recognised and sought.

CIMA Qualifications

CIMA offers two accountancy qualifications:

Certificate papers are examined throughout the year by Computer Based Assessment. A recognised qualification in its own right, the Certificate in Business Accounting provides a solid grounding in the basics of accounting and business skills and is an entry requirement to the CIMA Professional Qualification. The CIMA Professional Management Accounting qualification comprises of ten papers. There are 6 papers at Managerial level, followed by 3 papers at Strategic level and finally the Test of Professional Competence in Management Accounting (TOPCIMA). Exam sittings for Managerial and Strategic level papers are in May and November. TOPCIMA is examined four times a year in March, May, September and November.
