Female Football team at BPP

football team at BPP

Starting the first female football team at BPP was both challenging and rewarding. Despite there being no team or structures in place for a female football club, BPP were really helpful in facilitating the formation of the team. What made the process easier was having the support of Christina Lambi Inclusion Officer and having such a positive response from a lot of my female peers. I hope the team continues to exist, or at least puts forward the message that as a student you can create, change and support anything you like!"

What made you choose to come to BPP University?

The relationship between BPP and Bangladesh is really good and this helped. Also I did some research online before applying and BPP compared very favourably alongside other universities.

How did you settle in at BPP University? Did you access Learning Support easily?

I researched on the university website once I joined BPP and found out about Learning Support that way. I had previously studied at another London university and the learning support department at BPP was much better in my experience.

In what way did Learning Support help you and how did this help make a difference to your studies?

When I was experiencing various difficulties my learning support adviser proved to be very helpful in liaison with other university departments when necessary and really helped in regards arranging assignment extensions and help with getting more appropriate support materials that helped with my visual problems.

Would you recommend other students with learning support needs to come to BPP and why?

I would have no hesitation in recommending BPP to students with learning support needs.

What career goal or other studies are you pursuing after BPP University?

I am currently looking for work placements in management, Business Administration or human resources roles. Once I have some experience I am looking to have a senior position in operations management and perhaps ultimately study for a PHd.

What made you choose to come to BPP University?

Having decided to leave my career and fulfil a lifetime ambition, I needed a flexible, distance-learning course I could study part-time with a reputable establishment.

How did you settle in at BPP University? Did you access Learning Support easily?

I was made aware of Learning Support from the admissions team, having discussed my concerns about studying with them. Once in contact with LS I was welcomed by an advisor who supported me throughout the majority of my course.

In what way did Learning Support help you and how did this help make a difference to your studies?

Having come into education later in life I had no idea what was available to help me in my studies. When I was at school my disability was not recognized and although my parents were told I was a highly intelligent child I was branded as “lazy”. As a result, I did not perform outstandingly in education as I was never able to show what I was capable of.

Learning Support listened carefully to my issues, told me what adjustments could be made for learning materials and exams and gave me information on Disabled Student Allowance. Not only did this give me access to a bespoke needs assessment but the DSA also paid for my computer equipment which has transformed my ability to study. In addition, the LS team worked on my behalf to gain the most appropriate adjustments for my exams with the Law School. Without all of this support I would not have been able to perform well and have the opportunity of achieving my full potential.

Would you recommend other students with learning support needs to come to BPP and why?

Whatever your specific issues, LS are equipped to support you throughout your time at BPP. The knowledge and advice they can offer is incredibly valuable and each student is supported on a one to one basis. Support is offered in confidence and no information will be shared with other people without your permission. Things may change throughout your course and the team are flexible and supportive, whatever your needs.

What career goal or other studies are you pursuing after BPP University?

I have been offered an unconditional place on the Bar Practice Training Certificate to study to become a barrister. This will fulfil a lifetime ambition and is something that I was not able to achieve when I was at school. Without the support of LS at BPP I would not have been able to show what I am capable of achieving. Completing the course will be one of the proudest moments of my life.
