Preparing for your future

We developed our Foundation and English Language programmes to provide you with an engaging and supportive educational experience which prepares you for your future higher education aspirations with BPP University.

We also help students to develop their ability and confidence in English language for academic, work and social purposes.

Our London centre is in vibrant Shepherds Bush with its excellent transport and rail links (and shopping!).

Programmes for UK and EU students

We offer Pathway to Higher Education Certificate programmes in legal studies, business management accounting and healthcare to help students who wish to progress to higher education who may not currently meet the usual 'A' Level or equivalent qualifications at Level 3. These pathway programmes also give students the opportunity to see whether they can cope with the challenges of studying at a higher level before committing themselves to a full degree.

Pathway to Higher Education certificates are awarded by BPP University:

Programmes for international students

For international students we also offer a wide range of pre-degree foundation programmes designed to prepare you both academically and in your English capability in order to meet the challenges of your future degree in law, healthcare or business-related subjects.

International Foundation certificates are awarded by BPP University:

For those who need greater support with their English capability, we also offer an Extended International Foundation Certificate which includes more intensive English Language and Communication Skills from IELTS 5.0. For more information, please contact our International Admissions team:

We also offer foundation programmes at Level 6 to assist international students to prepare for their Masters degree in the UK.

If you meet the academic entry requirements to start your BPP University degree but need to improve your use of English language, we give you the opportunity to do so with our Pre-sessional English programmes. If you meet the IELTS (or equivalent) level of English to start your degree but would like additional support at the start of your degree, you can attend our In-sessional Study Skills support classes.

If you wish to improve your English for work, social or other reasons but do not necessarily wish to progress onto an academic programme, we also provide the following course at a number of levels:

English Language requirements for international students

International students whose first language is not English will need to demonstrate their English Language ability in writing, reading, listening and speaking to be sufficient for them to derive full benefit from and succeed in passing their chosen programme.

The academic English language requirements are in addition to the UKVI requirements to obtain a TIER 4 visa. Please check the most recent Secured English Language Test (SELT) list on the UKVI website.

Learning and teaching approach

Our programmes are delivered in classes of up to 20 students each, giving you lots of opportunities to build your knowledge, understanding and confidence with the support of your tutors and fellow students. Depending on the programme you are studying, you may have classes in the mornings, afternoons or evenings – with the first morning classes beginning at 9:00am and the evening classes finishing at 8:00pm.

Your tutors, who have a wealth of practice-based and teaching experience, are here to enable you to achieve your potential. We pride ourselves on recruiting and developing passionate and knowledgeable tutors who enjoy teaching and seeing you develop and succeed. We are committed to providing high quality education and we expect a similar level of commitment from you so you get the most out of your time with us.

Support in your learning

Throughout your time with us, we will provide you with expert support and guidance. Our tutors and student support team will monitor your progress, and are here to help and sympathetically advise you on all matters relating to both your studies and outside of BPP.

We also fully understand that travelling and starting your education in London may be a daunting experience if you do not already live here and we try to ensure you have as much support as possible to enable you to settle in to your studies and life in the capital. We therefore have dedicated International Student Advisors here to help you settle in.

For information on our extensive range of additional support services, including pastoral care and financial advice, please see our student services pages and see the BPP Student Association for a range of student activities and support.
