All our programmes are aligned to recognised professional qualifications and institutions and range from Level 2 to 7. They offer a clear pathway from one qualification to the next enabling apprentices to follow career paths typically only previously accessible via traditional university.

Always at the forefront of apprenticeships development, BPP are one of the first training providers to deliver new Apprenticeships Standards including Degree Apprenticeships (delivered and awarded by BPP University). We continue to offer these alongside relevant Frameworks.

Level 2 & 3 Apprenticeships

Accounting: AAT Levels 2, 3

This apprenticeship aims to train accountants to Technician Level (QCF Level 4), who are working for accountancy firms, or in finance or accounting in other organisations. It's relevant for any role within the accounting context, including sales and purchase ledger clerks, cashiers, assistant accountants and accounts managers.

The ACCA FIA apprenticeship is an ideal stepping stone into ACCA for prospective Accountants working for an accountancy firm or in a finance division. Providing learners with a solid introduction to Financial and Management Accounting.

Level 4 Higher Apprenticeships

Professional Accountancy/Taxation Technician Apprenticeship Standard
Level 4

Our Level 4 Higher Apprenticeships are designed as an entry level role into the Accountancy and/or Taxation Sectors. Roles are applicable to organisations of all sizes and to Apprentices in Accountancy and Taxation Practices including finance functions in Private, Public and Charity Sector organisations. Choose the qualification that is included;

  • Accounting: Level 4 AAT
  • Accounting: Level 4 ACCA
  • Management Accounting: Level 4 CIMA
  • Tax: Level 4 ATT
  • Audit: Level 4 ICAEW

Actuarial Apprenticeships

Actuarial Technician Apprenticeship Standard Level 4

The Level 4 Actuarial Technician Trailblazer Apprenticeship is an entry level role into the actuarial industry. The role is applicable to organisations of all sizes (both insurance companies and actuarial consultancies) and will involve the apprentice working as part of a team using data analysis and mathematical models to provide solutions to financial problems. It is supported by the Institute and Faculty of Actuaries, and is a possible route into study for further actuarial qualifications. Apprentices will study for professional exams (either two of the Certified Actuarial Analyst exams or one of the Fellowship exams).

This will be studied alongside the relevant skills and behaviours to be a success in the role.

Senior Financial Services Customer Advisor Apprenticeship Standard Level 3

Designed by leading financial services organisations, this apprenticeship will develop technical Knowledge, Skills and Behaviours across front line roles in banking, savings and insurance in order to understand customer needs and provide individuals, businesses or a small portfolio of accounts with the right products and services. It includes a choice of qualifications including CII, CISI and Chartered Banker Institute and uses an innovative and flexible approach to demonstrating competency through the delivery of a high quality programme which is fit for purpose for performance in the workplace.

Insurance Practitioner Apprenticeship Standard Level 3

Created by the Chartered Insurance Institute (CII), leading financial services and insurance employers this Standard is designed to encourage access to the insurance profession by providing an entry level role into the industry. It includes a Level 3 CII professional qualification with an innovative and flexible approach to demonstrating competency. The Knowledge, Skills and Behaviours learnt will be transferable across future roles within the business such as underwriting, client relations, insurance claims, loss adjusting, broking, reinsurance and account management.

Compliance/Risk Officer Apprenticeship Standard Level 3

By law, all financial services organisations have to meet a wide range of compliance and risk requirements. These areas might include data security, financial crime or operational risk. To meet these requirements many organisations will have dedicated risk and/or compliance departments with experts in the relevant subjects. They provide proactive support and guidance for the organisation, balanced with achieving appropriate customer outcomes. In some organisations, this expertise may be embedded within the different business areas themselves.

Investment Operations Specialist Apprenticeship Standard Level 4

This Level 4 Apprenticeship Standard has been designed specifically for roles within the operational and administrative areas of businesses in the Financial Services such as stock exchanges, stockbrokers, investment managers, banks, financial advice and wealth management firms and investment consulting and investment administration businesses. It will develop the Skills, Knowledge and Behaviours to be a success in the role, including performing complex and specialised activities, to be fluent in the systems and processes of the organisation and to be aware of the wider risk implications of their role and the business. With a choice of CII or IMC qualifications included, on completion, it will allow the apprentice to progress further into organisation and onto more qualifications if required.

Insurance Professional Apprenticeship Standard Level 4

Insurance is an incredibly diverse marketplace with a rich history of helping people and businesses assess and manage the risks they face. Over a million people in the UK work in this exciting industry that provides products and advice on everything - from sports cars to hurricanes. The Insurance Professional Apprenticeship provides a development pathway that will allow apprentices to specialise in a particular area of the industry with supporting and appropriate, professional qualifications. It supports the consolidation of technical, industry and business knowledge and the development of the skills needed to apply this to a range of complex and/or unfamiliar situations.

Senior Insurance Professional Apprenticeship Standard Level 6

Insurance is an incredibly diverse marketplace with a rich history of helping people and businesses assess and manage the risks they face. This standard covers a wide range of roles including internal facing ‘operational management’ and externally focused ‘client management’. All roles will require very strong technical competence, with the ability to apply this to a variety of scenarios depending on the size, specialism and business model of the company.

Accountancy

Assistant Accountant Apprenticeship Standard Level 3

An assistant accountant provides support to internal and external customers and will work within a practice or the finance function of an organisation. Part of their role will involve assisting in the day-to-day financial activities such as data entry to month-end management accounts and/or year-end financial statements. In addition the assistant accountant may find themselves involved in regulatory financial requirements such as the completion of VAT returns or assisting in the preparation of tax computations.

Infrastructure Technician Apprenticeship Standard Level 3

An infrastructure technician provides support to internal and external customers, helping them to be productive and efficient when using technology to do their own jobs. They do this by matching technology to workplace processes to solve any issues or problems. An infrastructure technician sets up systems, helps people to understand their place within the workflow and provides support when required. They also rectify issues to maintain the organisation’s productivity.

Network Engineer Apprenticeship Standard Level 4

The primary role of a network engineer is to design, install, maintain and support communication networks within an organisation or between organisations. Network engineers need to maintain high levels of operation of communication networks in order to provide maximum performance and availability for their users such as staff, clients, customers and suppliers. They will understand network configuration, the cloud, network administration and monitoring tools, and be able to give technical advice and guidance.

Software Developer Apprenticeship Standard Level 4

The primary role of a software developer is to build and test simple, high-quality code across front-end, logic and database layers. A developer will typically be working as part of a larger team, in which they will have responsibility for some of the straightforward elements of the overall project. The developer will need to be able to interpret design documentation and specifications. The customer requirements will typically be defined and agreed by more experienced or specialist members of the team, such as a business analyst or technical architect.

HR

HR Support Apprenticeship Standard Level 3

Human Resource professionals work in any setting where there are employees and within small, medium and large organisations. They work as part of the HR function delivering front-line support to managers and employees. They will take ownership for providing advice to managers on a wide range of HR issues using company policy and current law, giving guidance that is compliant and where errors could expose the organisation to employment tribunals or legal risk.

HR Consultant Partner Apprenticeship Standard Level 5

A HR consultant or HR business partner will use their expertise in Human Resources to provide and lead the delivery of HR solutions to meet business challenges, together with tailored advice to the business. A HR consultant could be a generalist role, where they provide support across a range of HR areas; or they could take on a specialist role, where they focus and have in-depth expertise in a specific area of HR – such as resourcing, total reward, organisation development, or HR operations.

Business and Management

Business Administrator Apprenticeship Standard Level 3

Business Administrators need a highly transferable set of Knowledge, Skills and Behaviours that can be applied across all sectors. This includes small and large businesses alike from the public, private and charitable sectors. The role usually involves working independently and as part of a team, and includes developing, implementing, maintaining and improving administrative services. Business Administrators develop the skills they need to progress towards management responsibilities.

A Team Leader/Supervisor is a first-line management role with specific responsibilities. They provide direction, instruction and guidance to ensure the achievement of set goals. Working in the private, public or third sector and all sizes of organisation, specific responsibilities will vary, but the knowledge, skills and behaviours needed will be consistent.

Operations / Departmental Manager Apprenticeship Standard Level 5

An Operations/Departmental Manager manages teams and/or projects, and achieves specific goals and objectives within the structure of an organisation’s strategy. They are accountable to a more senior manager or business owner. Working in the private, public or third sector and in all sizes of organisation, specific responsibilities and job titles will vary, but the knowledge, skills and behaviours needed are consistent.

Chartered Manager Degree Apprenticeship

This Degree Apprenticeship is suitable for those entering or already in management positions. It is designed to build an individual's capability to successfully manage people, projects, operations and/or services. It is a unique opportunity for apprentices to gain a business degree, awarded by BPP University, within an apprenticeship framework to provide the professional recognition of their ability to deliver impact, behave ethically and demonstrate commitment to continual learning and development. Paralegal Apprenticeship Standard: Level 3

Delivered and awarded by BPP University Law School
This two year Paralegal Apprenticeship has been created by an employer Trailblazer group that includes leading law firms. The programme aims to ensure that businesses can recruit new talent and provide a solid foundation for working within a law firm or other legal services environment and to equip them with the skills and knowledge to perform the routine tasks of a junior paralegal. Solicitor Apprenticeship Standard: Level 7

Delivered and awarded by BPP University Law School
This new Solicitor Apprenticeship offers a work-based learning route to qualification as a solicitor. The Apprenticeship Standard has been created by employers, for employers across the sector and including leading global law firms.
