Course Summary


By the end of this course you will be able to demonstrate an understanding and knowledge of the underlying principles and concepts relating to financial accounting. Our courses are designed to focus on the most important aspects of the syllabus including:

  • The context and purpose of financial reporting
  • The qualitative characteristics of financial information and the fundamental bases of accounting
  • The use of double entry and accounting systems
  • Recording transactions and events
  • Preparing a trial balance
  • Preparing basic financial statements.

Course Options

  • Day Release Ideal for students who are able to take a day off a week to study.
  • Block Release Ideal for students who prefer to take study leave in discrete blocks. Each paper is taught over 3–5 days in two phases.
  • Evening Course If you are unable to attend weekday courses and wish to keep weekends free then the evening course may be the option for you.
  • Saturday Course If you are in full-time employment or have other commitments that make weekday courses difficult, you can opt for a Saturday course.
