What level should I start at?
You will start at the Professional Stage Knowledge modules. Depending on your prior learning will determine how many Knowledge modules you will need to take.
What qualifications do I need to do the course?
You can start ACA training straight after school with A levels although most trainees have a degree (or overseas equivalent), which can be in any subject. You can also transfer from other accountancy qualifications.
What is the ACA syllabus structure?
The syllabus diagram will show you the topics that will be covered at each stage of the qualification.
How will I be assessed?
The six Knowledge modules of the Professional Stage will be assessed electronically (e-assessment). The remaining syllabus papers are assessed through paper-based examination.
How long will it take me to qualify?
The qualification will take you approximately two years. In addition you must complete the work experience requirements and a training contract with an authorised ICAEW training organisation, which will last between three and five years.
What happens when I qualify?
You can apply for full membership with the ICAEW and can take a variety of careers.
