CIMA
, the
Chartered Institute of Management Accountants, and professional
training provider, BPP, have joined forces to subsidise courses for
graduates coming onto the job market in the
tough
est market in a decade. From today, students will be able to sign
up to study CIMA Certificate and Managerial level courses at a BPP
UK mainland centre during the day, and benefit from a heavy
discount of at least 50%.
According to a recent survey by High Fliers Research carried out
with over 16,000 final year university students, 10% of respondents
are expecting to go into the accountancy profession after
university. However 30% fewer reported obtaining secure job offers
from 2008 levels. This is where CIMA and BPP can help these
graduates start their career now.
The set price of £250 includes BPP tuition, CIMA registration,
subscription, support and one exam fee per subject. The offer is
open to anyone working 20 hours per week or less, not in full time
education, and will apply to Certificate and Managerial level
courses for the remainder of 2009.
The packages offer new graduates a way to get started on their
careers while they are still waiting for the right job. Students
can retain their flexibility as the CIMA qualification is
recognised around the world and widens career options both within
and outside of financial management
Robert Jelly, Director of Education at CIMA,
commented, ‘With 300,000 graduates coming onto the job
market in the worst economic conditions in 80 years, CIMA felt that
we should support the next generation of business leaders through
the difficulties they are facing today. This is an opportunity for
them to prepare for their future careers now. Having the CIMA
professional qualification is a great way to differentiate yourself
from competitors in the job market.’
David Bowden, Head of London region at BPP Professional
Education added: ‘This is a unique opportunity from two
market leading names in professional training. We really want to
help graduates take a forward step in their professional careers.
Not only is this a great offer to all eligible parties, it also
signals a level of initiative and commitment to prospective future
employers of these people. We will be supporting this offer with a
significant marketing campaign, targeting university contacts,
parents of graduates, students themselves and the wider business
community. Yes You Can is the campaign name – and it truly will
help relieve some of the pressure and help graduates get started on
their successful careers.’
