Our history
Professional beginnings
BPP was established in 1976 by Alan Brierley, Richard Price and Charles Prior. Originally specialising in accountancy qualifications, we quickly expanded to meet the evolving demands of a more globally connected UK business sector.
University college status
In 2007 BPP created history, becoming the first publicly owned private company to be granted degree awarding powers by the Privy Council.
The University College is divided into the Law School, the Business School, and the School of Health, all known for the practical focus of their teaching and their innovative study methods.
Education for the professions
BPP Professional Education comprises the Examination businesses of Accounting, Tax, Financial Services, Actuarial and Professional Development. Today, as one of Europe's leading professional training providers, we have over 2,000 staff in 40 worldwide locations and teach over 30,000 people a year.
